Here's information from the UN on a curriculum they've developed. No
obvious direct art connection but perhaps this provides some good
jumping-off points to studying other cultures. The contact is Michelle
Maldonado: mmaldonado Perhaps she can be coaxed to provide
these materials outside of NY, Chicago, and LA.

Global Classrooms: A Model U.N. Initiative program. The
United Nations Association, a non profit that aims to educate the public
about the United Nations, provides a simulation program to New York,
Chicago and Los Angeles middle schools and high schools free of charge.
We provide schools with a three week curriculum that teaches about the
U.N., international affairs,and conflict resolution through reading,
writing, and speech delivery exercises. We also provide teachers with
training on how to implement the program. Included in the curriculum
package are individual student books for each student. All this is made
possible at no cost through our generous funders.
