Egypt Project

My wife teaches high school art and I am a pastor of a UCC Church in
Vermont. In January we hope to do a project with our church school
children (preK through 8th grade) for every Sunday for the month trying to
give them a taste of the experiences of Biblical people in Egypt (e.g.
Abraham & Sarah, Joseph, Moses, and later Mary, Joseph and Jesus).

Have any of you done similar projects?

Among many ideas, we are thinking about making paper from papyrus but I
don't have a ready source in Vermont. Any suggestions?

Thinking about making bricks out of clay and straw and making a small
pyramid. But it could get really messy, as I am sure it was.

Two years ago we borrowed genuine artifacts from an archaeological dig in
Israel. Anyone have a source for a loan of Egyptian artifacts?

Any other creative ideas or resources you might have to offer?
