Hi Et Al,
Been gone for awhile but wanted to tell you all how excited
I was to see the Liza Lou exhibit in KCMO at the Kemper Museum of
Contemporary Art (across from Art Institute). She is showing
"Kitchen" and "Backyard",very intricate work (and I thought looking
at a computer was hard)! Wonderful work really, even my kids wanted
to go in it. I bought a nice little small press book on the exhibit
for 20$ and didn't
want to shell out 30$ for the video, but watched it at the exhibit.
You can order it from the Kemper though.(What is the deal with
expensive videos?,tape doesn't cost that much and after all most of
the people that would want it are educators or other artists).
Anyway also included is a fact sheet handout and a kid's
handout(activity sheet to go with exhibited pieces). I could type up
the first one but the second has pictures for kids really ,and
book is ISBN: 1-889195-12-x
Also while in KC I stopped by "Worlds Window",which has moved to
Brookside. They had some wonderful Rain sticks varying in size from
6"-4 or 5 ft. 6$ & up around 50$ also many other hand made
Check it out if in town.
Retta and others in KC,sorry I missed meeting you,had a lot of
family stuff to do,hope to next time in town.
