students missing art class

student would need to miss that class one day to make up for the lost time
art. Seemed to work as not many asked again.
This always seems to be a problem in our middle school, especially with NEW
teachers. Once we had a teacher who repeatedly would keep students from our
classes (art, music, etc) to make up work, etc., without asking permission
or even letting us know where the student was...which is against school
One day, I wrote up the students for "skipping"...when the students were
called in, the teacher also ended up being called in to corroborate their
story and that was the end of her "keeping them out of class without
