I am teaching middle school art and curious about techniques,
philosphies, and structure of grading. In my last position we did not
give letter grades, but developed a detailed list of skills and marked
them to show a student's acquisition of each. We marked a line to show
a developing skill and when we felt it was in place a cross was made.
Ten years ago I graded by a point system at a traditional high school,
but it's been a long time. Any ideas or suggestions.
