Hello ArtsEdNet,

My middle school students will make and maintain sketchbooks this year.
Student sketchbooks are new for me, so I need some suggestions from those
of you who have experience with them. How do student sketchbooks fit into
your grading system? Are the students required to bring them to class every
day, or do you simply give notice for periodic sketchbook due dates? Do you
give sketchbook assignments every week, or just a few assignments each
term? Do you grade sketchbook work which has not been assigned, and if so,
then how? About a year ago there were a few posts here with lists of
fantastic sketchbook assignment ideas. I intend to utilize some of them.
Anyone have more?

Thanks in advance for your great ideas!
