After my recent post about teaching drawing, I've had a few requests for
more detailed information about some books. Here are four books about
drawing that I refer to very very frequently, both as a drawer and as a
drawing teacher. You should look into them, if you haven't already. Let me
know what you think, and post other suggestions if you have them!

THE NATURAL WAY TO DRAW: A Working Plan for Art Study, by Kimon Nicolaides,
Houghton Mifflin Company, Boston, 1941.

THE ART OF DRAWING, by Bernard Chaet, Yale University, Harcourt Brace
Javanovich College Publishers, Third Edition, New York, 1983.

DRAWING, by Daniel M. Mendelowitz, Stanford University, Holt, Rinehart and
Winston, New York, 1967.

DRAWING ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BRAIN: A Course in Enhancing Creativity
and Artistic Confidence, by Betty Edwards, G. P. Putnam's Sons, Revised
Edition, New York, 1989.
