
I have done a similar theme mural project at our school. However, we
painted frames around each masterpiece leaving negative space between each
one. The kids helped pick out which masterpiece works needed to be included
to build the "allusionary base" of the rest of the student body. The artist
,title and date of the piece was included inside each masterpiece. The
result looks similar to a gallery. Sometimes less is better. Think about
not doing so much text. Just spark interest. I also had the students
teach visiting groups about the artist and work they studied and painted.
