legit copying....

rest of the listserv. I didn't see the general heading to the
listserv...just to me..but you seemed to have addressed it to us all.

I cannot answer to the legitimacy guestion as I'm not a lawyer.
However...if Kinko's "lost a very big lawsuit over copyright issues", I
would THINK they would be doubly sure NOT to do anything to upset the apple
cart again...like do it again illegally. The form that is to be filled out
addresses the issue of copyright "permitting" and puts you on notice that
it is NOT alright to use it outside the classroom. BTW....contacting the
author or publisher is NOT granted easily or quickly...at least in the
cases where I have done such.

I can only respond with what has been my experience. I think only an
attorney can answer our "legitimacy" question in full. Can anyone else
speak to that?
