Hi Robin,

I teach art to a cluster of about 6 elem. schools and have to carry things
in my car, then transfer the boxes of 'stuff' to a cart that the schools
have. I find that my projects work pretty well, but I can only do the more
portable lessons/projects.

Our program here in Maryland only works if the classroom teachers stay
with the art teachers in the room to assist with the lesson, after they
see what its all about and to also (most importantly) handle the classroom
mangement and discipline problems, as we (the art teachers) are not around
to each school that often to be able to get to know the students' names.
If the regular classroom teachers were no in the room with us, the kids
would go wild as they would see us as a substitute teacher. So, for your
sake (and from my experience) I would encourage the teachers to stay in
the room with you so that you can spend your time teaching art and not
doing the classroom mgt. stuff.
