Having just rejoined after being in Europe for 6 weeks
I seem to have missed something!
Any discussion about art education
is of value, whether it is nuts and bolts about a process or an
esoteric discussion about philosophy. Each of us have our own
particular area of interest and can share or just listen in.
As an Australian who has had litle experience with snow i thought i
should share my delight at the play conference in Helsinki in seeing
a presentation about winter art activities in the north of Sweden. It
simply had not crossed my mind that snow could be a dry modelling
material. The children at this particular school had created
magnificent large sculptures using snow and then turned them into
play objects. How i would love to "have a go" at this form of art
someday. But as we get snow for about 10 minutes once every six years
or so ...there seems little chance of that.
Anyway... just keep talking to one another.
Bob Greaves.
