You're right Woody, it does take a long time for the process of reviewing the large numbers of proposals for a convention of this size. First they are sorted and then each is scored on a rubric by a committee for that submission area (ie: middle level, or curriculum and instruction). Afterward, sessions "making the cut" for quality have to be scheduled in regards to time length, space needed, etc. The web site indicates that members will be notified around Dec 1.
Hopefully you will make your plans to be in Seattle either way since it is going to be fabulous!! We went up there by train from Portland this weekend and checked out the hotel. It is beautiful, modern and open feeling - right next to the convention center and 6 blocks from Pikes Market on the river with the museum near by. Plus the Museum of Glass, the Chihuly Bridge of Glass, etc. in nearby Tacoma. The Hilton is two blocks further from the Sheraton and other non-hotel options are available.
Attendance drops when the convention goes West. I would love rally everyone and to prove it wrong this year. After years and years of going mainly East I am really looking forward to showcasing the wonderful Pacific Northwest :-)
hope tis helps some~
