I usually lurk, read and learn but have posted to invite you to participate in the 16th Annual Altares Del Mundo art exhibition in Sacramento, CA.
The Altares Del Mundo art exhibition is loosely-based on the "Day of the Dead" celebration. Regional artists create art installations reflecting traditional and non-traditional interpretations of this celebration of remembrance. Altars reflect a variety of artistic and personal expression and often include subjects such as family, friends, celebrities, social trends, environmental issues, political statements, tragedy, misfortune and war.
For more information and the Call to Artists form, please see the web site at:
http://sites.google.com/site/altaresart/ The web site also has teacher resources for incorporating Day of the Dead activities into the curriculum.
