This summer I read The Forest Lover by Susan Vreeland about Emily Carr, the
Canadian watercolorist who painted in the Aleuts and tried to help preserve
the totem poles and culture in British Colombia- excellent. Also The Painted
Kiss by Elizabeth Hickey about Gustav Klimt and his models and their lives. Both
were interesting novels about artists.
