"The Island of the Colorblind" by Oliver Sacks is very good book to
read for information on a rare condition of complete colorblindness,
called "achromatopsia." The book is almost like a travel and mystery
adventure on a remote Pacific chain of islands. Dr. Sacks is a
neurologist who also wrote "The Man who mistook his wife for a hat,"
which includes many insightful stories about patients he has had, and
some of these patients have creative issues to resolve. It is heart
warming to read how Dr. Sacks approaches solving the problems his
very unusual patients present.
