[teacherartexchange] What's in a word: Cafe

It would be interesting to know how internet outlets came to be
called by the confusing name of "cafe".

Wikipedia has a decent explanation: <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/
Coffeehouse> and the dictionary definition of 'cafe' cited is rather
sparse.

Consider Bistro vs Cafe vs Diner vs McDonalds, each is a "small
restaurant selling light meals and drinks", but you would hardly
confuse them.
