from someone that has "been there and done that" I
just wanted to add a few DONT do's with your student
dont tell her to take only the classes with the BAD
kids (while YOU keep the ones that you want- this isnt
dont ask her to do lesson plans, and approve them then
later after the lesson is OVER tell her they werent
good enough and she should of done something else.
DONT talk abt her behind her back with the college
supervisor, and supervisors DO NOT EVER talk about the
student teacher with other student teachers you are
supervising (VERY unethical and dumb too, those other
student teachers might be friends of the one you are
bad mouthing- hello?)
Dont say to her everything is fine and that she is
doing great, then come review time write down on her
review the total opposite! WRONG to do this!
Be a mentor to her, HELP her and make sure she has a
GREAT experience at your school-------after all that
is how it should be, sure wasnt for me.
