Talk about using math---------matting IS the real challenge if you do it the
old fashioned way, i.e. measuring the work, minus 1/8 inch all around, plus
size of the matt on two sides and top, and additional on bottom (greater).
THEN taking the matt Board and measuring and cutting out the 'hole'.
