Just a heads up---I brought this up a year or so ago, but it might bear
repeating. I introduced the Mandala lesson, and showed examples of circular
designs in nature, architecture, and in all the major world religions. Two of my
students said their religion forbade even looking at such "mystical" symbols
as yin yang, etc. I tried to get some explanation so I could understand, but
couldn't. They were quite adamant and brought notes from home. I had them do
another assignment in the library.
Last year, I skipped the spiritual/ cultural references, but I think it was a
real loss. Seems however carefully you tread, someone takes offense.
Have a great new school year, everyone.
