Hi,
Find out first the things that interest your students--music, fashion,
tech gizmos, room decor, etc. Work out your plans from that. You can find
elements and principles of design in everything. Also, know what the
students are studying in their other classes. Collaboration with other
units of study, without killing the topic, can be a springboard for exciting
experiences for the students.

Hi all,
Does anyone have any lesson plans or ideas for teaching basic art principles
to kids who don't have an interest in art and are being required to take an
art class?
