It's a shame that I'm sitting here in a school system with ONE Mac OS 9 in my classroom and no one in the entire school system knows anything about Macs...and this computer is sitting here being wasted. None of my students will use it because we can't get a printer that will work with it. It didn't even come with a floppy disk drive...had to hook in an external drive...which creates problems when students try to eject their disks.
We got an Epson 900G when we got the computer and it worked good for a while...but someone pulled out a cartridge to check the ink level, and when they put it back in...it has not worked since. Is there a solution for this????
I bought an HP deskjet 3520 last year and tried to install it...but got a message saying something about "files needed to install not found". I thought that might be because the printer was newer than computer.
So...I brought an HP 7350 from home that is a WONDERFUL printer...and I keep getting that same message.
For both of these printers, I have the installation disk and I have tried downloading drivers from HP...to no avail.
It would have been so nice to have had an instructional manual with this computer that would tell us how to use a Mac.
If anyone has any advice for a "frustrated Mac user" (teacher who has already had to start back to school)...please write me and "off list" please.
Also...if anyone has a manual or can tell me what book would be good to purchase for this older version Mac...please let me know. I need a "book for Dummies"...
