I've done the same type of thing the last three years, but I'm going to use
some of the new ideas I'm getting from this list this year as well.
In their regular K-5 classrooms they all start with a review of the 4 B's: Be
responsible, Be respectful, Be safe, Be kind. So I have them brainstorm then
illustrate what the 4 B's would look like in the Art Room. Some of them end up
with illustrations of the 4 B's outside of the art room, and that's fine.
We've done it with different media on a variety of paper. The students have done
it individually, with a partner or in small groups. Then the kids talk about
their pictures. With 500 kids I end with enough for the room, the halls, etc.
