Here in texas it is 103 and I have 4 days to wrap up the details on an inservice for regular elementary classroom teachers (with no art making experience or art education for that matter) about how to incorporate art across the curriculum. Their principal (bless him!) wants to have all the students in all the grades at his school make a visual product for EACH lesson throughout the year. Their "conceptual link"; i.e., theme is POWER. His teachers are a little overwhelmed and I have been enlisted to share ideas, processes, etc. with them.
I now some of yall have used or come across some great resources out there and although I have quite a few, just wanted to check to see really good ones I have missed.
I got all the links, etc. from incredible art dept., kinderart.com. Got things about developmental stages of artmaking.
Besides giving them resources, I will have them actually make small examples of contour line drawing, crayon resists, tempera batik, simple monotype, a mixed media something, and whatever else I can squeeze in.
I will start off with the basics: elements, simplified color theory, composition and 4 steps of art crticism.
Can yall think of something I have missed?

It blows me away when I think that we are so priviledged to be able to affect another human being's life every day in such powerful ways!
