we just changed to a 7 period day, 50 minute classes, and I only get one planning period, too. I don't know if the other teachers get two, but if they do I'm going to raise hell. I asked for my AP class to be 2 periods so I could lose one Art I class, but they said no. I will work six periods, but only if two are AP

Subject: school sched, plan/conf. periods?
Hello and thanks so much to all of you, and Michal and Judy. I'm new to site and it has meant the world to me to have a connection and get feedback. Only my
second year and want to "pay it forward" asap.
I wondered what typical school MS sched. were for some of you. Weve gone to an 8 period day, core teachers with 2 periods off and electives with only 1, 45min
planning. Was at a yearbook training conf. one teacher in our district says that
she thinks that could be against the law or somthing. (unless we are paid more)
I know I should just be thankful I have a job! But am really getting stressed over,
since I have yearbook class as well (and a special ed class is foating in my room my one conf. period!!!).
I reallize probably won't be a change this year and I need to get my attitude in gear, but can at least plan on speaking to someone
about next year. I know I will get to in-service and find that there are other electives
with 2 periods off at our school, and that will really stink!!! since band is always
favored and we all know art is the favored elective!:) (my classes are very full)
THanks, sorry to be so PO'ed! It will really cool me down to hear others have similar schedules. Is that wierd?? Yes. Deborah
