I am using sketchbooks this year too. I have done it in the past but not for
a few years. But the kids know that if they finish early they work in their
sketchbooks. I am talking to them about "getting to know their sketchbooks."
They grin and think I'm weird.
I really believe they are the answer to kids who finish early as well as
helping with those kids who say, "I never get to draw what I want to."
Thanks for reminding me how valuable they are.
