Here is an easy lesson for elementary to get you started thinking about
pattern.

It would be very easy to edit this lesson to your liking. Lesson has
handouts in PDF file.

You could do a lesson on symmetry:

Have students fold paper in half -- draw plants and animals with lots of
curving lines (organic shapes) -- fill the space. Transfer the drawing to
the other side using carbon paper. Outline with markers and color.

Printmaking - designs from nature would be good at any grade level.
