I just learned that Art21: Art in the Twenty-First
Century will be repeated this fall. It’s a Public
Broadcasting TV series about very contemporary
artists. It’s broadcast schedule was changed in the
wake of last fall’s tragedy. There’s a Web site,
http://www.pbs.org/art21/edu/teacher/index.html,
that’s full of teaching resources and information
about the artists (Maya Lin, William Wegman, Pepon
Osorio, Sally Mann Barbara Kruger, and others). Also,
Davis Publications’ course, Identity and Place in
Contemporary Art begins October 7. It features the
artists from the Art 21 TV series. The course is
described at www.davis-art.com.
