This is a press release I sent out recently regarding an arts education
showcase ICAN is holding in Louisiana. If you are in Louisiana, please
come! We are going to have doorprizes, refreshments, craft activities
for the kids, a silent auction, and of course, performances from artists
of all arts disciplines. Laissez les bon temps rouler! Let the good
times roll!

The Independent Children's Artist Network (ICAN) is hosting an
arts education performing showcase featuring professional children's
artists from across Louisiana. Showcasing artists include Jeannine
Pasini Beekman (storytelling), Bruce Daigrepont (music), Johnette
Downing (music), Neil and Mary Early (storytelling), Wanda Ellard
(storytelling), Oneal Isaac (storytelling), Papillion (music), Rose Anne
St. Romain (storytelling), and Story Ballet Magic (storytelling &

Educators, 7305 Florida Blvd., Ste. D in Baton Rouge on Saturday,
September 7, 2002 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Specific directions to
the showcase site can be found at <http://www.lrce.org>
http://www.lrce.org. Click on "Directions." Educators, librarians, and
presenters interested in children's programs are invited to attend.
Kids are welcome but reservations are strongly recommended as there is
only seating for 100. Participate in a silent Arts Auction, craft
activities for the kids, have the chance to win a delightful basket of
goodies, and enjoy entertaining performances.
ICAN is an organization of professional children's artists from
Louisiana who perform arts in education programs in school, library,
family, and community venues. A catalog of artists is published and
distributed to schools, libraries, and presenters statewide each fall.
Many of our artists have received awards, honors, and fellowships for
their work. Please visit <http://www.icanartists.org>
