How true that statement!
Neil was profound in his book "The End of Education" too.
He discusses how the educational system fails to give students a"
transcendental unifying narritive" like those that inspired past generations.
But what they do offer are"false gods' of economic utility, consumerism,
technology and ethnic separatism and resentment.............
I wish we weren't so afraid of religion that we eliminate it completely from
our dialog and our curriculum.
It sounds like we need to let"God"
back in school and promote the Golden Rule.
