Air Dry Clay: Keeping it together

Dear Judy Nagel,
    Can you treat the air dry clay the same as regular clay, when it
comes to water? That is should we be using slip to join all the little
parts to the sculpture. I also have been having trouble with keeping
all the pieces together. Is using water on it OK?
