I have a question. I agree with what everyone has reccommended. However, is
this a new job? Do you have tenure? When I started teaching my union told
me to keep a low profile until I had tenure. The art teacher hired after me
complained about a few things which she had a right to complain about. Since
she was the new teacher hired, they conveniently cut back the art staff so
she didn't have to be hired the next year. After I got tenure I let it be
known how unhappy I was about my small room, for example. I was moved to a
larger room the next year. I kept quiet about the closet I was teaching in
for three years. I am sure I could have gone to my union but I didn't. I
say all this because I don't want anyone to get hurt. Since I've only been
teaching five years and am not in your state I do not have much experience
with these things. WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK? IS THERE A RISK STANDING UP FOR
YOUR RIGHTS?
