authentic medieval stained glass - HELP!

I've offered to do some collaborative work with some interesting teachers
this year and one of them would love for me to come up with an authentic
medieval stained glass unit for his history students. I told him I thought
the expense would be prohibitive, but now I bring this to you all -- I've
never made authentic stained glass at all, let alone using Medieval
techniques.

Any suggestions? It would be fun to try something new and challenging, but
like I said, I'm a painter not a stained glass artist!!

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated -- as usual!!
