jan, gargoyles tie in with the art from the reformation period. gargoyles
were used to ward off evil or tell stories to the common man and placed as
drain spouts on the corners of churches.!!

oh yeah, there is a fabulous sculptor doing modern gargoyles in chicago,
can't think of his name but i'll look.
