Thanks, so far it is going well. The hardest thing for the students is
getting the center started. Of course the janitor is screaming about the
mess, but that's art. It is a good beginning of school project as we are
getting new students regularly and they can catch up quickly.

Subject: pine needle basket info from google search

I too am interested in trying this some day (wish list) , but here's
popped up from a google search. First site has tons of links and
 <A HREF="">The
Needle Group, Pine Needle Basket Links</A>

this site has a clear diagram of how to start to coil a pine needle
 <A HREF="">NativeTech:
Instructions for Coiled Pine Needle Baskets</A>

 <A HREF="">The Pine Needle Group, a
gathered to further the art of coiling...</A>

 <A HREF="">Northwest Basket
- Vi Phillips Guild</A>

A commercial site with info and an area to order how to books
  <A HREF="">Peg's Basketry
needle basket basketry how books booklets publications instructions</A>

a site where the weaver describes herself as a pine needle junkie ( too
 <A HREF="">Joyce's Pine Needle Art: "I'm a
Needle Junkie!"</A>

and there are many many mor e, but this should help you get started,
last year there was a threaad about this subject on artsednet, but I
pull it up from the archives. There is a list member who does this, and
one time was bombarded with requests for needles.

Hope this helps,
Christine Besack :)
