Recity drawing idea

Hi. I wanted to do something with my fifth graders using American cities as
inspiritation. I thought about using Joseph Stella or Edward Hopper's art to
get us started. I want to incorporate one point perspective into the lesson.
Since 9.11 is coming up soon, I plan on doing some projects at different
grade levels dealing with American places or ideals.
Does anyone have a successful lesson using the city as inspiration? Thanks,
