I like the poster idea! You could introduce the unit by having the kids fill
in a web on the elements, and one on the principles. They can use text ,
video, etc. to pull the information and summarize it in graphic form. I
fond this really helps them organize their thinking. They can then move on
to producing the poster. Good luck.
