We have made calabash type African music with papier mache. Either two identical cups with beans or whatever for sound. Tape together papeir mache. Next week add and paper mache a handle. Paint ,and add acrylic polymer for strength. Used Judy Deckers site for design insprations. Also made cloth to wear for a performance dance with the instruments. Combined with the music teacher. Small water bomb ballons also work.. Used yard to emebellish and wrap around handle.. can also be like the Spansih or Mexican instrument/.
