We've been through this before, but I'm wondering what criteria other art teachers use for grading careful observation homework drawings. The one I used last year started with "follows directions" (i.e. they turned in a drawing that they did outside of class on unlined--preferably sketchbook--paper that was of the assigned subject). Other things I've looked for are attention to detail and use of shading, neatness, etc.
How do you evaluate their drawings?
