I had kids lok @ lascaux cave ptgs, then create their own w/ earth tones
pastel chalks on sandpaper. Looked very good. Had them draw LIGHTLY in
pencils first, then go over w the chalk.

ps you could aslo try adding odorless turp to the chalk for a more "painted
"look. I loved to work this way in college- gives a very "inky" quality to
the lines.
