Jan - try scherenschnitte (sp?) (Penn Dutch - German) style of paper cutting.
Very cheap and could be mounted on black paper. Also Amate - Mexican style
of paper cutting. Large origami - takes larger folds
well - not great for details. Texture rubbing folder - of nature - punch
papers,
tie with yarn - including a stick down the spine. Search out your printing
companies
for paper they will be throwing out - you may end up with more than you can
use.
Get wallpaper books for book covers etc. Find a book at your local library
on paper airplane patterns - Good luck - a low budget is a crummy
thing to start out with - a real test of ones creativity - you;ll do great.
