Bookwork vs. Studiowork

I'm not a teacher but am heavily involved in the arts (music, visual arts
and theatre) and at 35 years old I have the attention span of a gnat.

I would prefer more interaction in an art class of any kind. I think that
is what it's there for to interact, share ideas, discuss things. Bookwork
is BORING and I lose interest very quickly (sometimes I think it is the
easy way out for the teacher to just assign a chapter to read and expect
you to learn that way).

I think in the middle school classroom that the students would learn more
and be more creative if that teacher went more towards a studio work approach.

But that's just one opinion in a sea of others . . . . . .
