Good luck on your job search. I am going to be student teaching in the fall
and I am currently finishing my last Art Ed methods class. In this class we
are preparing an art ed teacher portfolio. This will be kept in a three
ring, extended cover binder with index dividers and clear protective top
loading sheets for each piece of paper.
The contents are as follows:
Table of Contents
one page
multiple page
Art Education Philosophy

Teaching Strategies

Lesson Plans
six lesson plans/ preferably a unit plan with six lessons,
including art history, aesthetics, art criticism, art
making, NAEA standards that the l lessons meet
and examples of field testing of these lessons.
Art Activities
(art activities that you have adapted from various sources
with photographs or color copies
of the art making activity)
School Arts Modified Art Activities
Multicultural Modified Art Activities
Artist's Declaration
Artist's statement
Slides of Artwork
Awards, Citations, Honors, etc.
Letters of Recommendation
This would be a portfolio that you would take on interviews or send to
serious job offerings.
You can also put together a smaller version to send to everyone that you were
planning on sending your resume.
I hope this helps
