be scenery, like a desert bluff or a lake with grassy banks, whatever)...

This is nice, when you have a large class (like I do) with a large span of
skills. Even the most hesitant, unsophisticated watercolor washes can turn
into beautiful skies or sunsets.
And the mixed media is always fun for kids, at least I have found.
