Gombrich has an excerpt in The Story of Art that makes for pretty
hilarious reading. It will remind you how tastes certainly change. A
hundred years from now reviews of Mapplethorpe, Serrano, or Helms's
attacks on the NEA will probably sound equally hilarious.
