Hi, Lori. Thanks for asking... but I don't know how much I can help. My
expertise is in elementary school, but when I go into middle schools, I
just do the same projects with them! They do so much more with the same
art ideas....

Is there anything specific you might want to do, any particular medium or
topic, famous artist's style?

Until then, here's a fun idea. I'll call it "Photo-Panel Shoot". This is
going to be for the kids to stand behind to have their pictures taken.
Get big appliance box cardboard and make a stand up panel. Cut arm holes
and a face hole (or just a neck scooped out shape at the top edge).
Then, each group (or pair or person) decorates their panel in whatever
way they think is fun, or it could go with an assignment from you...like
historic figures or characters from favorite books, etc. A kid stands
behind a panel and has his/her picture taken!!! If you have a digital
camera, it's really fun to let them work with the photo images on the
computer.
