Dear Artsednet,
My name is Liz Budnitz and I am graduating from the University of
Michigan in 2 weeks, on May 1st, with a bachelors degree in Women's
Studies and Ethnic studies. I am desperately looking for a job in Arts
Education or Arts in Juvenile Detention Centers for the fall in New York
City.
I have been subscribed to Artsednet for about 2 months now, and
have been writing down all of your various ideas for art projects with
students because I know that this is a field I am very interested in
and that I will use these projects later. I thank you all for your
creative ideas!
I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas of where I could look for a
job in New York City. Any contacts, any organizations, any schools or
juvenile detention centers with interesting programs?
I have a lot of educational experience: Eating Disorder peer
education program, Anti-Racism workshops, art workshop at a girls'
juvenile detention center, poetry workshops with high school students from
Ann Arbor, a theater workshop in a high security men's prison near
Detroit, and helping to put together a Prisoner Art Show.
Please let me know if you know of any leads. Any little hint would
be helpful!
Thanks!
