<< Subject: Painters painting painters
Do you know any other paintings that show an artist at work having been
painted by another artist? I can only think of
- - G.Kersting: C.D.Friedrich in his studio
- - Manet: The swimming studio (showing Monet)
- - Monet: Renoir painting in his garden.

Well...what about Normal Rockwell, and some of his self-portraits? His
ingenuity shows, as he "peeks" around the easel in one! He is a great artist
to use with students when teaching illustration, especially by 3rd and 4th
grade, where "copying" is such a stigma, and using reference (PHOTOS!) is an
important aspect of drawing.
