Weaving is a fun end of year project in Art, for many of the reasons
mentioned, you can take the kids outside on those beautiful days
that God did not intend for children to be sitting at desks, and weave under
a tree or in a field. I use the carpet squares that you use with little ones
to group them on the floor for a story. Keeps their bottoms dry if the
ground is a little damp, yet. Also, these groups tend to get chatting and
some get distracted from the task at hand...weaving! So it is good to bring
something to read aloud, whether it is Art History, or something relevant to
weaving, so loud talkers do not distract others.
