using people for profit

I don't begrudge anyone the profits from whatever work they do. If some one
wants to write a book, or compile info. for one, go for it! If they do the
work, why shouldn't they profit? But, if people are submitting art projects
(which requires them to put their plan in writing - via e-mail or whatever
means), then my understanding is that it is automatically copyrighted even
without submitting the forms. I think the explanation that contributors
would be asked for their permission should suffice.
