Thank you to everyone that responded to my question about painting paper mache.
We have fixed our piece with the cracking tempera by adding another layer
of paper mache using construction paper in the colors we had painted it (it
looks great - the colors are really bold!).

Also, thanks for all the info about the dangers of bird droppings. With
all the environmental hazards we face everyday, I don't need that one piled
on the list. I am contacting the health department in my town to ask for
more info and to see if this applies to ducks and Canadian Geese.
